Rachel
Bowden

Rachel is Head of the Evaluation and Policy Department at the University of Brighton. She leads the Department which includes the Policy function responsible for the production and delivery of policy analysis and advice to the University’s Executive Board and staff across the institution.

Rachel joined the University a long time ago as a Research Assistant in the Education Research Centre, supporting the then Vice-Chancellor, the late Professor Sir David Watson with his research in higher education policy. She has worked in a number of roles in strategy and was Deputy Director of the Strategic Planning Office for over 10 years. She is a member of a number of sector groups, including the AGCAS Data Insights (Graduate Data) Group and has just taken over as the new Co-Chair of the UK and Ireland Higher Education Institutional Research (HEIR) Network.

Meredith
Brooklyn

Meredith is the Alumni Relations and Public Affairs officer at the University of Brighton. Meredith’s background has included working in-house and as a consultant in content marketing, communications, and public relations. She works closely with the policy team, providing communications and public affairs guidance with tactical engagement responses.

Prior to joining the University, Meredith was a content marketing professional, working with international publishing houses, third sector organisations and boutique enterprises to develop their marketing and communications strategies and build content and engagement. She holds a BA in English from the University of Binghamton, New York and a Master’s from the University of Sussex.

Dan
Chard

Dan is Policy and Projects Manager in the Evaluation and Policy Department at the University of Brighton. Dan provides policy analysis to senior leaders and coordinates responses to external consultations, surveys, and calls for evidence. He also supports the delivery of student experience projects. Dan has worked for several years in higher education, most recently as a Public Affairs manager.

Dan holds a BA (Hons) in Music from the University of Cambridge, where he was a choral scholar at Gonville & Caius College.
