Sandra is Director of Policy and External Relations at Council for Higher Education Art and Design. CHEAD is the representative body for art,
design and creative media in higher education providing advocacy for 65 institutions, promoting the sector’s interests and shaping policy.
Sandra is responsible for providing executive support and strategic advice to the Executive Board and Trustees (VC/PVC level) whilst managing
government relations, public affairs and interfaces with key stakeholders including Design Council, AHRC, Arts Council, Crafts Council,
Creative Industries Federation and NESTA.
Sandra has 23 years’ experience in HE, former Pro Vice Chancellor Engagement University of Cumbria and past Chair of Carlisle Partnership.
Previously a Chartered Marketer, Sandra also provides independent consultancy on developing university business partnerships and stakeholder
engagement.
