Dr Colin
Campbell

Colin joined Newcastle University in October 2016 as Director of Strategic Planning and Change and is responsible for supporting the development, implementation and monitoring of the University’s Vision and Strategy. He is the University’s lead on strategic risk, statutory returns, large-scale projects and change management. Colin is also responsible for providing management information and policy insight for the Vice Chancellor and the University’s Executive Board.

Colin has a PhD in Geography from the University of Edinburgh and worked in Scotland for ten years at the universities of Stirling (where he was Head of Policy, Planning and Governance) and St Andrews (at the Centre for Housing Research). He also worked as policy advisor in the chief executive’s office at two local authorities and has a strong interest in the design of services and business processes to meet the needs of local stakeholders.

Prof Jane
Robinson

Jane is the Pro Vice Chancellor, Engagement & Place at Newcastle University, and a member of the Executive Board. She leads the Engagement & Place Strategy, focussing on building partnerships to enhance the University’s contribution socially, economically and culturally.

Previously, Jane was Durham University’s Chief Operating Officer with strategic oversight of operations and external engagement. Before taking up her position at Durham, Jane was Chief Executive of Gateshead Council. She also played a leading role in the establishment of the North East Combined Authority and the Commission on Health and Social Care Integration.

Jane has also held leadership positions in the cultural sector, including Director of External Relations at Arts Council England.

She holds an MBA and Master’s and Bachelor’s degrees in English Literature. She is also a Fellow of the RSA and holds non-executive positions with Culture, Creativity and Education, the North East Cultural Partnership, North East Local Enterprise Partnership, Centre for Life, and the Tyne Community Learning Trust.
