Nick
Allen
Nick is Executive Officer in the Office of the Vice Chancellor at The University of Northampton, a position he has held since August 2011.
In this role he supports the Vice Chancellor and the Chief Operating Officer with a range of duties, which are now mostly externally facing
in focus including membership of the Northamptonshire Armed Forces Covenant Committee, Northampton Town of Sanctuary project and local park
management groups with close proximity to the new University campus. Previously in this role, he has supported risk management and strategic
planning processes and provided information, data and governance support for the University’s new campus which opened in 2018.
In his former roles at Northampton, Nick oversaw the University award ceremonies, certification and conferment processes and was previously
a member of Northampton’s quality team supporting external examining and external scrutiny at the University.
Nick has also worked at The Open University - where he worked as a member of a team funding by HEFCE supporting teaching and learning
activities - and Sheffield Hallam University, where he worked as an administrator within an academic unit.
Nick is Joint AUA Midlands Regional Co-ordinator, a graduate of the AUA Postgraduate Certificate in Professional Practice (PgCert),
an active PgCert mentor and a former AUA Trustee. He has recently completed a Home Office funded project exploring security and resilience
in the UK further and higher education sectors and collaborated on a Leadership Foundation for Higher Education funded project which considered
leadership and change.
