Neill
Currently responsible for the External Affairs activity at the University, maintaining relationships with key external
organisations including mission groups, umbrella bodies, sector bodies and other institutions. She works as part of the
Government and External Affairs team at the Open University which advises the Vice Chancellor and the Executive Group of
the University on government and higher education policy, and supports the engagement of the University with local and
national political and policy stakeholders.
Prior to this, Emma worked as a Senior Manager, Strategic Intelligence at The Open University leading horizon scanning
activity for the university.
Previously she was a Market Analyst at Royal Mail, working on projects linked with Postcomm and other external organisations
on the partial privatisation of the Post Office. During her five years at Royal Mail, Emma also worked as a Competitor
Intelligence Manager, assessing the impact of competition on the UK letters market.
Graduated with first class honours from University of Newcastle Upon Tyne, BA Hons in International Business Management.
