Fiona
Kane

As Director of the Vice-Chancellor’s office, Fiona provides strategic advice and support to Vice-Chancellor Professor Paddy Nixon. This includes representing the Vice-Chancellor with key internal and external stakeholders. She supports the co-ordination of outcomes from the Senior Leadership Team and has responsibility for developing and delivering key strategic oversight and intervention on behalf of the Vice-Chancellor. Fiona also researches and develops high-level policy for the VC and leads the Executive support team.

Fiona joined Ulster University in September 2016 from The Strategic Investment Board where she was Marketing Communications Director; supporting the delivery of major infrastructure projects commissioned by the Northern Ireland Executive.

Fiona was on the winning bid team for the inaugural UK City of Culture awarded to Derry~Londonderry and she led the marketing communications during 2013. She was previously a Board Director with the communications division of the Tribal Group. Prior to this she was the Marketing Communications Director for CITB Construction Skills in GB.
