Elaine
McMillan
Elaine has been Executive Officer (Governance) and Clerk to the Court of Governors at the University of Westminster since 2012.
Her responsibilities include operation of the Court and sub-committees, compliance with the HE Code of Governance and the
University’s governing instruments, and providing information, support and advice to governors. She leads on periodic
effectiveness reviews and development of the governor induction and training programme.
As an Executive Officer she contributes to the provision of an integrated service to the strategic leadership team, promoting
consistent and efficient implementation of strategy, policy and procedures, business efficiency and leading projects and/or
cross-University activities.
Elaine is institutional Aurora champion having completed the women’s leadership development programme in 2013-14 and
the Women for the Board programme in 2015. She is studying for the Chartered Secretaries Qualifying Scheme, has experience
as a volunteer with young people and charity trustee and is governor at a primary school.
